genesis

We were naked at the time, standing in the shower actually, when the idea for RIPL washed over us. Something in the water around here.

In that moment we imagined a neverending stream of content that would come to us magically from people we knew. They wouldn't have to do anything and neither would we, except to open the taps and let it flow. Since we're all jabbering about our favorite music and videos all the time, why shouldn't we be sharing them with one another automatically? No more hunting around from web page to web page, trying to figure out what's new and searching for things to forward along. That's like taking a bucket down to the lake to get your drinking water. If you like indoor plumbing, you'll love RIPL!

It gets better.

RIPL's 23rd-century filtration systems remove unpleasant odors and infectious agents from your content stream, delivering nothing but pure, fresh music and video with the taste you like. Face it, some of your best friends are clueless about music. It doesn't take long for RIPL to learn that and filter them out--or their music anyway. The same goes for movies and videos and blogs and photographs and even the ads. If you respond to something, you get more like it. If you don't, you get less. The more you use RIPL, the better it works. It starts reading your mind.

And whatever you like goes to your friends. If they like it, it goes to their friends ... and to their friends after that. That's the RIPL EffectSM. You might attract a following just by being yourself!

We could go on. How you can talk to your friend on the spot about that video without switching to some other application. How the coolest recording artists we know are using RIPL to connect with their fans. How you can put a RIPL showerhead right on your MySpace page to show off the people and content that make up your world. And it's all free and legal.

As in life, it doesn't work too well if you have no friends. No, RIPL isn't trying to be the next whizzy social network. We're just linking the networks you already have. But once your friends have RIPL accounts they will seem slightly smarter, more interesting, and possibly better-looking.

It's time to dive in. Get your account, bring in your favorite content, find a few people to follow, play some music, just be yourself and start making waves! We can't wait to see what you do.
